A STATEMENT IN CARTILAGE
WHEN PIERCINGS NEED A FRAME
A Coin Slot is a special form of body modification in which a narrow slit is created along the upper rim of the ear (helix). To achieve this, a small piece of cartilage is removed, and the surrounding skin is precisely sutured to form a defined opening.
This slit can later be used to wear multiple piercings stacked vertically.
TECHNIQUE
A precisely measured section of cartilage is removed from the ear helix using sterile instruments.
The skin is then sutured in such a way that a narrow channel forms, which heals into a permanent slit.
Once fully healed, several pieces of jewelry can be worn vertically in this slot – either symmetrically or staggered.
The procedure is performed under hygienic conditions equivalent to those in a surgical clinic.
The exact shape and placement of the Coin Slot depend not only on the client’s wishes, but also largely on individual anatomy.
What is desired and what is feasible will be discussed in detail over multiple consultations – on-site, via phone, and by email.
RISKS
As with any surgical procedure, there is always a risk of bleeding and infection.
To minimize these risks, we use local agents to reduce bleeding, employ specialized suturing techniques, and adhere to the highest possible hygienic standards.
