TECHNIQUE
There are different methods for splitting the tongue. The most common technique is cutting with a scalpel.
Afterward, the two sides of the tongue are either cauterized with heat or stitched with needle and thread to minimize regrowth and to create a more rounded shape.
Some modifiers perform the split with scissors – but this method has a rather poor reputation.
We exclusively use the scalpel method for tongue splitting.

The possible depth of the cut depends on the customer’s preference but is always limited by the tongue’s anatomy.
BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
- Prepare chamomile tea ice cubes in advance to cool your tongue after the procedure

On the day of the procedure, avoid caffeine

Do not take blood-thinning medications

Arrive well-rested, well-fed, and well-hydrated

If you are a smoker, smoke no later than 2 hours before your appointment – then avoid nicotine for at least 10 days
A tongue split without a tongue piercing has no specific disadvantages.
The risk of partial regrowth exists even with a piercing in place.
