membrane area require a \u201cdownsize.\u201d This means we replace the initially longer jewelry with a shorter one.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"150\" data-end=\"168\">WHY DO WE DO THIS?<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"170\" data-end=\"666\">For piercing, we use jewelry that is slightly larger so there is enough space when the fresh piercing swells. After a few weeks, the jewelry starts to protrude again and may begin to bend because it is too long. This can cause irritation, make it easier to snag the jewelry, and may cause the piercing channel to heal at an angle. For a downsize, you do not need an appointment. Simply come to the studio Monday to Friday.
